New York, NY — Journalist and author José Martínez announces the release of Your English Is Great, But…: A Bilingual Coloring & Activity Book for Kids, an adaptation of his original book centered on language and identity.
Set for release on February 19th, the new edition reimagines the themes of the first book — bilingual identity, cultural pride, and confidence — in a creative, interactive format designed for children.
“The response to the original book made it clear that these conversations about language and confidence should start earlier,” Martínez says. “This adaptation allows that message to reach the next generation.”
The coloring and activity edition features bilingual prompts, reflection exercises, and illustrations rooted in real experiences growing up between English and Spanish. Rather than focusing on correction or assimilation, the book affirms language as strength.
Developed independently through Martínez’s imprint VOZ NYC, the release reflects a broader publishing strategy: expanding original intellectual property into new formats and audiences.
“This is an evolution of the work,” Martínez adds. “Not a separate project.”
