José Martínez is an accomplished bilingual journalist, TV personality, and Strategic Communications Specialist who has received multiple Emmy Awards for his outstanding work.

With a passion for delivering impactful news, Jose joined CBS News San Francisco Bay Area in January 2023 as a dedicated reporter. Prior to this, he served as a respected bilingual reporter and fill-in anchor for 69 News: Edición en Español, covering stories across the Lehigh Valley and Berks County.

During his tenure at NY1 Noticias in New York City, Jose broke significant stories shedding light on the challenges faced by immigrant communities. His reports exposed issues such as unsafe working conditions, sexual harassment, and violations of labor laws and regulations.

Jose’s experience also includes working as a Metro Reporter for El Diario de Nueva York, where he covered a range of topics, including politics, education, and immigration from New York City Hall and the New York Police Department.

Beyond his national contributions, Jose’s reach extends internationally as a correspondent for Ycodendaute Radio Tenerife, Spain, and as an immigration analyst for BronxNet News. He has also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the online edition of Noticia Long Island, where he hosted and directed the popular online talk show ‘Café con José.’

Recognized for his dedication and exceptional reporting, Jose has received prestigious awards including two EMMY Awards for his outstanding journalistic work. He has also been honored with the Media & Journalism Award from the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce and Nassau County in 2017 and 2019 and named Media of the Year in Latinus 20 Under 30 in 2017.

Jose’s journalistic journey began in Colombia, where he worked at El Tiempo and City TV. He completed his studies in Broadcasting News through fellowships at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. He maintains active memberships in the Education Writers Association (EWA) and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ).
