José Martínez Joins WEEU’s “Feedback” to Talk Storytelling and Identity

This morning, Emmy Award-winning journalist and author José Martínez appeared as a special guest on WEEU’s live radio show Feedback with Toni Reece.

Broadcast live at 10 AM from the WEEU studio in Reading, the conversation centered around José’s debut book Your English Is Great, But…, a memoir about growing up bilingual, navigating multiple identities, and using language as a bridge between worlds.

“I don’t think people realize how much power we give away when we’re told our language, our accent, or our story isn’t good enough,” José shared on-air. “This book was my way of saying: Actually, it is.”

The discussion also touched on the future of local journalism, the evolving role of independent authors, and José’s mission to elevate underrepresented voices through platforms like VOZ NYC.

Stay tuned for a replay of the segment—and don’t forget to grab your copy of the book, available now on Amazon.
